CJ Industries - {block:PostSummary}{PostSummary}{/block:PostSummary}Tweet & Track

General:

Last opportunity to move established shrubs.

Don't forget to buy your seeds from your Garden Centre.

Plant any bare rooted trees or shrubs you have acquired.

Start your 2009 compost pile.

Divide perennials.

Sort through your shed and dispose of any outdated chemicals. Don't forget the new regulations for garden chemicals. Please dispose of chemicals sensibly. Any doubt contact your local authority.

Start sowing your bedding plants in the heated greenhouse.

Prune clematis and dogwoods.

Deadhead other plants.

Veg Growers:

Harvest leeks, sprouts and cabbage as required.

Buy seed potatoes: don't leave it too late as choice of variety and quality will diminish as time goes on.

Buy Onion Sets, Shallots (in short supply this year due to seed losses) and Garlic.

If you intend to buy Asparagus crowns this year buy them now as choice will diminish by next month.

Prune the vines.

Last but most important: cover your veg plots with weed fabric or plastic ready for digging. It's well worth the effort.
