WOW: RED SUN shallots arrived today. 

Despite the massive shortage of shallots this year we have been able to track down an additional delivery of shallots. It's not huge so "don't delay, get yours today"....

Due in early January 2009 Seed Potatoes. I'll post a blog here as soon as they arrive.

Varieties are:

First Early:

Arran Pilot, Epicure, Foremost, Home Guard, Lady Christl, Pentland Javelin, Red Duke of York, Rocket, Sharpes Express, Swift.


Second Early:

Estima, Kestrel, Nadine, Wilja.


Main Crop:

Cara, Desiree, King Edward, Pentland Crown, Picasso.


Salad Crop:

Charlotte, International Kidney, Pink Fir Apple.


Special Interest:

Dunluce, Yukon Gold, Lady Balfour, Belle de Fontenay, Ulster Chieftan, Vales Emerald.


Organic Varieties:

Colleen, Orla, Remarka, Robinta.


JOBS FOR JANUARY:

Harvest Leeks, Cabbage, Swede & Parsnips as required. Cover root veg. with straw or fleece to stop them freezing to the ground.

Dig over veg. plot if you havn't done so by now. Cover with leaf mould, good compost or well rotted seaweed. Many people also like to lime their plots now.

Plan your seed order.
